Select Impressions is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, operating printing facility in Salem.


1889

Originally opened as Ross E. Moores. Slogan: "A Book and Job Printer". Address was 203 Commercial. Owner Ross E. Moores. Wife ran a boarding house at 517 Front Street.

1907

Moved to 191-1/2 S. Commercial in what was called the Turner Building.

1911

Address became 191 S. Commercial.

1921

Moved to 127 N. Commercial. Added a telephone with the number 218.

1924

Moved to 122 N. Commercial. Slogan: "Job Printing, Legal Blanks".

1928

Moved to 237 State Street. Slogan: "Complete Printing Service, Legal Blank Publishers".

1932

Ross E. Moores Co. was purchased by F. Jaskoski & Son.
Telephone became 5125.

1935

Renamed F. Jaskoski and Son, Printers. Son was Philip.

1942

Became Jaskoski Printing Co. and Moved to 362 State Street.

1945

Moved to 490 Ferry Street.

1947

Became Wynkoop and Blair Printing Service.

1960

Slogan: "Complete Letter Press & Offset Services, Wedding Invitations". Telephone became Elm3-5669.

1982

Moved to 1232 Commercial NE.

1983

Purchased by Douglas and Janice Baird. The name was changed to Select Impressions and Moved to 347 Kearney Street.

1994

Purchased by Mike Basinger and Mark De Wilde. After DeWilde & Basinger, Inc. purchased the business in 1994, we began to upgrade technologically. Currently we have a full contingent of electronic services for both Mac and PC as well as presses ranging from one to six colors.

1999

Moved to 2215 Claxter Road NE.
